Code of Conduct

Our most important rule is that all VidUKon attendees must show respect and consideration for others attending the con, both when directly addressing other attendees and in more general conversation. This rule applies in all spaces where interaction is possible, including all offline spaces used by congoers during the con, in the con Discord, Conline vidshow chats, and panels.

VidUKon is dedicated to providing a harassment-free con experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of con participants in any form.

VidUKon will not tolerate behaviour which is derogatory or harmful to others, or which may cause fellow fans to feel unsafe or uncomfortable attending the same event as the perpetrator, such as repeated instances of racist, misogynistic, queerphobic (including transphobic), ableist or other offensive behaviour, even where the behaviour has not been directed specifically at a VidUKon attendee or occurred specifically in the context of VidUKon.

Con participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the con at the discretion of the con organisers.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

* Note that vids shown in vidshows may contain sexual content, and panels likewise may include discussion of sexual topics in relation to vids. Discussion of sexual topics is welcome in con spaces as long as all participants are comfortable with it.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, event organisers retain the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the con. Event organisers may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any participants. We expect participants to follow these rules in all con spaces.

Reporting

If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. The concom can be reached at vidukon@gmail.com, by direct message via Discord, or in person at the con. A list of concom members is available pinned to the Rules channel in the Discord server, and you can also see concom members currently online at the top right of the screen.

You can also make an anonymous report at this Google Form: https://forms.gle/QsF3ex1eq6d6QLie6 We can't follow up an anonymous report with you directly, but we will fully investigate it and take whatever action is necessary to prevent a recurrence.
